Then with a few powerful bounds the Lion was back in his limo and gone.
When finally Teddy recovered from his shock he ran with excitement to tell the teacher.
“Miss, miss, miss, Denise isn’t icky and strange at all – she’s a king’s kid!” blurted Teddy.
Of course the teacher knew this already.
“So, Teddy” the teacher said, “if the King is Denise’s father, what does that make her? And how should you treat her?”
But the teacher turned away before Teddy could answer. both knew that Teddy had been treating her unfairly.
In the same way, sometimes there are people that we are unfair to. Maybe there is something different about them – maybe they have strange things for lunch, maybe they look different, but just maybe they are the children of the king. If their father the king, was to come and visit would he be happy with the way you treat His child?
God is the father to all who are sad and lonely and God is our king.
We all need to remember that Jesus loves ALL the children and he said that you and I should do the same. Jesus said, “As I have loved you, so must you love one another.” Have you ever been the one who was left out? It isn't a very good feeling, but if you are ever the one that feels left out, you can know that Jesus loves you just as much as He loves the other children.
